Job Title: Production Technician / Shop Lead (Experience Dependent) 

Reports to: Lead- Make Stuff Move 

Location: Woodville (Kawartha Lakes), ON

Salary: $22.00- $30.00 hourly (We value experience and skills and are open to discussing compensation with each candidate to ensure it reflects their background, salary or hourly opportunity.

Job Summary: 

We’re looking for a Production Technician with a growth plan to Shop Lead. If you already have leadership experience, we would love to bring you on as Shop Lead right away!

Your focus as the Production Technician/Shop Lead will be on producing inventory and components using our CNC lasers, 3D printers, and other shop tools so our kitting/fulfillment team can stay ahead of demand. You will work closely with our Operations Manager and Founder to anticipate what’s needed next and take a lead on getting it done. We are looking for someone who can work independently and take initiative to keep production moving forward without constant oversight. We are a small, efficient shop and are looking for someone who is willing to jump in wherever they are needed to make sure all aspects of production are managed along with keeping the facility itself organized.

Responsibilities:

Your First Year (Production Technician focus)

• Monitor stock and proactively produce components to keep kitting and fulfillment moving smoothly.
• Run industry-leading CNC laser cutters, 3D printers, woodworking tools, and other shop equipment.
• Stay in sync with the Operations Manager and Founder to align production with upcoming demand.
• Organize and prepare raw materials for efficient production runs.
• Support the team when extra help is needed.
• Keep the workspace safe, organized, and machines running.
• Other duties as assigned by your manager. 

Your Growth Path (Shop Lead focus)

As you develop, you’ll:

• Ensure production stays ahead of demand.
• Improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and streamline processes.
• Plan production priorities so machines are always working on the right jobs.
• Help onboard, train, and coordinate assistants or seasonal staff and, students
• Become the go-to person running the shop, freeing the founder to focus on R&D, partnerships, and community programs.

What We’re Looking For:

• Hands-on experience in making, fabrication, or light manufacturing.
• Comfortable with CNC/3D printing/shop tools (or eager to learn).
• Organized, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Efficiency-focused,  always looking for ways to keep machines running and maximize output.
• Willing to step in where needed.
• Motivated to grow into a Shop Lead. 
• Education: NOT REQUIRED
